How Busy Should One Be?

I just like this look. Nothing in particular...just the whole idea of it.:
Some people live very busy lives. I believe that there are several reasons for this. First off, some have very high metabolism …I know a few people like this. Some people are simply energized, like an Eveready battery. I really do not understand where they get their energy. These people go, go, and go.

I imagine I am hearing comments now…you (those very busy people) are saying, I have no more energy than you do. I am just dedicated to getting done all that there is to do. I force myself to work hard.

Yes, I know there are those hardworking people out there that work from sunrise to sunset because there is no other choice…the work must be done.

Then there are others who like to be busy. Business is their crown and glory. They achieve more than the average person does, and that makes them proud. They are the star of every occasion. Perfection is important to them.

That is all fine and good. The problem arrives when a busy person expects everyone around them to live up to their standards.

I am confident that my job is to attend to my family, raise and teach my children, manage my home, help and encourage my husband. As one person said it…I must tend to my own garden, keeping out the weeds.

And yes, hospitality is also important. Each of us needs to decide how often we invite others into our homes. It does not always have to be for dinner. Inviting guest for a simple visit with refreshments or dessert and coffee is often just as pleasant and a lot less exhausting. I find that keeping it simple is better for fellowshipping.

My plate is full. At this time in my family’s lives, I do not believe that God has called me to more.

I believe that my outreach to the world is being a light wherever I go, to sanctify the Lord God in my heart, and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks a reason of the hope that is in me with meekness and fear.

God has different work for each of us to do and our job is seeking His will for our lives and doing that which He shows us to do.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the LORD require of thee,
but to do justly,
and to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with thy God?
(Micah 6:8)

 It is that simple.
