Bill decided that we should set up the tent. I cannot believe it - it is already nearly the end of June and we have not even had a camp-out this year! It had been such a long time since we last set up this tent that I for got how big it actually is. I love this tent. We have had it since 1992, and it is not longer water repellent. We are going to leave it up all week for our summer 4th of July celebration. We have big plans for an evening of family game time followed by a pancake breakfast in the tent.

The children love sleeping in the tent in the back yard. June 2009, I made a promise that we would sleep in the tent one night every weekend that summer. Usually we ended up sleeping out two nights, since the tent and sleeping bags were already in place.
We had such fun together that we have continued the practice every summer since.
Sometimes we set up the big tent, and sometimes just one or two smaller tents.

Here we are…and it is not even June. They just cannot wait. So, this weekend we they set up the tent.
They wanted to have a real camp out and walked 1.5 miles (there and back: 3 miles) to Target to buy hotdogs, roasting marshmallows, and candy.
We sat by the fire roasting our hotdogs and marsh hot cocoa with mini marshmallows
