Last Night Out on the Town

Whenever we go to Monterey, 

we always make sure to have fish and chip...

and the place we like to eat it is the London Bridge Pub.

Pavel's Backerei Breads and Pastries

Yesterday while strolling through town, we discovered Pavel's Backerei here in Pacific Grove.

Oh how delicious it smelled. We bought a large, round loaf of fresh sourdough bread for our shrimp dinner. 

Underneath the class, large, fluffy cinnamon rolls tempted us. Not one of us said a thing, but separately we were all thinking the same thing and went away dreaming of indulging in those cinnamon rolls.

Last evening, Bill brought up the idea that we should get some for Saturday's breakfast. We drove past the bakery to check the hours. It was about 6:00 P.M.. On the bakery door the sign read "Sold out"...they close early when they have sold out.  

We found that the bakery opens at 7:00 A.M., so out we headed early Saturday morning to fulfill our dreams. Those fluffy cinnamon rolls were not to be available until 8:00. So we settled on the delicious selection shown in the bottom right photo, above. Settled? I should say NOT! You can only imagine how absolutely delectable these pastries were!

One things for certain...we will all be talking about those cinnamon rolls we missed and make sure to have some on our next visit.

Mountain Hike

This Friday we took a hike.
