Our Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner

I forgot to take a photo of the table before we sat down to eat.
So I decided to take one of my dinner plate.
Mashed potatoes - oh so creamy and buttery - and gravy,
Sausage-Cracker Stuffing - I always make a double batch of this because everyone LOVES it,
Golden orange garnet yams (AKA sweet potatoes) slathered in butter,
Turkey,
Corn, also slathered in butter,
and juicy whole cranberry sauce.
Oh, yes, and fresh bread rolls,
but I never eat one on Thanksgiving Day, because I can eat bread any ol' day.
We also always have sparkling cider - oh yum.

The food is delicious, but the best part of Thanksgiving Day is having the family all together.

Thankful Eve

~ All the baking is done ~
~~~♥~~~
Time to curl up on the couch by a warm fire and enjoy an evening with the family.
U.S. "Weekend in the Ski Country", 1955.  U.S. Brewers Foundation //  by Haddon Sundblom  (1899-1976). "Sundblom gets pigeonholed as the painter of Coca-Cola Santa Clauses, but this trivializes his central place in 20th century advertising art. More than any artist including Norman Rockwell, Sundblom defined the American Dream in pictures, proved by his work for virtually the entire Fortune 500.:
Jello Jam ~ It's Easy and Delicious
Earlier this year, I made this wonderful Jello jam. I recently opened one of the delicious jars of jam. It was so yummy that I had to tell you about it. This is the easiest jam to make, no pectin used, just Jello.
I love the flavor of  the watermelon Jello in this plum jam.
Sweet Rolls Are My Undoing
 I did it again. I went and made cinnamon rolls.
And a few days later, as an excuse to use up some cranberries, I made cranberry sweet rolls.
Oh no, a little too much icing on this one.
Here they are fresh out of the oven...
 And then, smothered in butter. Oh yum!
I think that I like them best with butter and just a touch of icing.
A Cottage Dream
I love small homes. A great part of my interest in small homes is that I live in one. I get inspired by looking at other small homes.
My dream home would be a cottage by the seaside. Wouldn't that be lovely? I can just imagine this little cottage with a view of the sea.
Foggy Sunrise at the River
This past week, we have been taking the camera on our morning walks.
These photos are all taken this morning.
 My camera really does not do the sunrise justice.
 We are so blessed to have time to stop and enjoy the moment.
 It is hard to get a good closeup photo with my cheesy camera.
We see many wild turkeys every morning.
 This almost looks like a road to heaven.
7:00 A.M. Coffee
It is just getting light at 7:00 a.m...
However, this Sunday, the time change will be changing that, at least for a while.
We have been leaving the house about 6:00 to head out for our morning walk.
Come Sunday, we will be starting our walk around 5:30. Oh, yay! I love early mornings!
Cottage Dreams
Signature of early 20th Century homes, this little cottage is cute, compact, and functional, but has a few too many doors. c. 1923 C. L. Bowes - 12588-B:
1942 - great upholstery details:
I will forever love small cottages.
There is no place so wonderfully homey and cozy.
I want a cottage in heaven...
by the ocean if you please.
