How to Dress like a Millionaire

Just look at Lauren Bacall.
She is always classy - and her hair is always perfect!

Her Green silk chiffon evening dress with fur trim from
How to Marry a Millionaire
is one of my favorite dresses.

  1. And.....she starred opposite the gorgeous Gregory Peck. I love this movie! Did Lauren Bacall ever look anything but classy....I think not.

  2. Sigh...oh how I wish I could look like that, wink. My days are jeans and sweatshirts, no fancy clothes here. Many holiday Blessings.

  3. My eldest daughter has a 1040s vintage dress in a similar cut and style w/o the fur accents that she's worn before (she does vintage like nobody's business!)

I just wish I had some semblance of a waist to even attempt it. At 5 foot and all my weight right in my tummy there is no way, haha.

This is a gorgeous dress and don't we all miss how well dressed people used to be? I still can't believe sweat pants, short shorts and jeans at church. We have all gotten so casual - and seldom does one "go back" to uncomfortable, even though it looks GREAT. I still haven't had the nerve to wear pants to church, can't see it happeningh any time soon, but no way will they be jeans or sweats or yoga pants for me.

This is a simple but wonderful post, sorry I rambled, haha. I just love that dress too! A lot!! ♥♥♥

  5. Same here! That dress is a showstopping beauty! Albeit with a slightly different neckline (vee necks rarely work well on me; I'd opt for a sweetheart of boat neck here, ideally, instead), that is definitely a piece that, if I had the means, I would love to have a super talented seamstress reproduce. I swoon at the mere thought! :)

Oodles of hugs & happy Saturday wishes,
    ♥ Jessica
