Breakfast is one of my most cherished times of the day and always a favorite meals. Breakfast is good anytime of the day or night!
My children enjoy a cup of tea with breakfast; I prefer coffee. A teapot is a charming addition to the breakfast table.
Malt-O-Meal muffins are a delicious favorite for an easy breakfast. In addition to their delightful flavor, I enjoy them because one muffin is a mere 95 calories! That means that even while dieting, I can afford a muffin, yogurt, and fruit, which leaves me quite satisfied.

How lovely! A wonderful tablecloth like that injects that best punch of colour and cheerfulness into the morning.
ReplyDeleteThank you deeply for all of your heartwarming comments lately, dear Hope, each one really means a lot to me.

Dear Jessica,
DeleteThank you! And, I truly love reading your blog. What makes me really happy is that I have several years of it to enjoy whenever I want to take my coffee breaks.

Oh, those muffins look good, but I was a bit confused on the measurements - like what does .25 or .75 mean? Maybe you can help me out a bit? Breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day as well, and you are right, you can eat it day or night. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jessica, the tablecloth is lovely.
Blessings to you! :)
DeleteHello Mara,
I know, these measurements are confusing; the recipe on the box of Malt-O-Meal cereal is not written with these measurements (.25 = 1/4, .5 = 1/2, and .75 = 3/4).
Also, The reason for the great calorie amount, is that this (unlike the one on the box) uses low-fat milk, instead of whole milk, an alteration I don't mind using (although, I only drink whole milk).
Thank you for the sweet comment about the tablecloth.
:) Hope
For clarification, the recipe:
This recipe is on every box of Original Malt-o-Meal and has been enjoyed by at least three generations of my family. What a treat to find out that this treat is pretty healthy!
Minutes to Prepare: 10
Minutes to Cook: 18
Number of Servings: 12
Ingredients:
1 ¼ c all-purpose flour
¾ c Original Malt-o-Meal hot wheat cereal,
½ c sugar
¾ c nonfat milk
¼ c vegetable oil
1 egg
1 Tbsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. (I combine the dry and measure all the wet together so that they're added simultaneously.) Stir together until all ingredients are moistened. Pour batter into greased or paper-lined muffin pans, filling cups 3/4 full. Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until center is firm to the touch. Serve warm. Enjoy!
